News from Daffodil: DAF Education, Oversight, and What’s Next

New opportunities to learn about donor-advised funds and a fresh conversation on the future of giving

As donor-advised funds grow, so does the need for better guidance and systems. Inside, you’ll find new DAF training, a podcast deep dive on the future of DAFs, and how Daffodil is helping programs move capital with intention

Raising the Standard of DAF Advising

The DAF500 challenge offers a free certification in DAFs, issued by Daylight, during the month of August.

Donor-advised funds are growing quickly, but many financial and philanthropic advisors have never received practical training on when a DAF is the right tool for a client or what to do next once a DAF is opened.

That’s why our partners at Daylight are launching the DAF500 Challenge on August 1: an effort to equip at least 500 leaders with stronger, more thoughtful approaches to modern DAF advising.

Better DAF education ultimately helps more charitable capital move with intention and through August 31, advisors can complete Daylight’s independently developed Essentials of Modern DAF Advising Certificate at no cost ($300 value).

Registration opens August 1. Get started for free here. When registering, please list Daffodil as your referral source!

Funding Bravely: New Episode Tomorrow

Philanthropic advisor Marvin Smith is closing out the donor-advised fund series on his Funding Bravely podcast with Daffodil co-founder Sarah Angello.

The episode explores why the typical DAF holder may look more like your next-door neighbor than Warren Buffett and what it would take to shift DAFs from accounts designed for passivity into tools actively investing in change.

Follow Funding Bravely on Apple Podcasts or Spotify so you can listen when the episode drops tomorrow, July 29.
