What We Heard at Advisors in Philanthropy

Thanks to everyone who joined Daffodil’s Our Modern Clients lunch session at last week’s Advisors in Philanthropy conference, especially everyone who kept the conversation going in the hallways afterward.

Three takeaways from this gathering, the largest in-person convening of philanthropy experts, with leaders from across the US and Canada.

• Donors are changing. Younger donors, entrepreneurs, and people with nontraditional wealth need a different kind of philanthropic experience.

• Advisors need better ways to engage around giving. The opportunity isn't just opening a DAF; it's helping clients figure out what they care about and what to do next.

• Philanthropy is becoming part of the broader financial-advice conversation. Giving can’t live in a completely separate universe from tax, estate, investment, and legacy planning. And financial advisors are increasingly discovering that adding philanthropic planning to their services is helpful to their clients and their overall practices.
